Home/Volunteers

There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into organising our events and our volunteers play a vital role in their success. It’s a great personal reward being a volunteer and makes a huge difference to the runners on the day. Becoming a volunteer also means you’ll be helping us to support the great work of Marie Curie. Plus there’s a bonus: you can run for FREE at a future INVNCBL event of your choice!

So what’s in it for you?

Don’t worry we’ll make sure you are fed and watered! All volunteers will receive:

An INVNCBL T-shirt
Packed lunch with drink
A free place at any future event (This is transferable to a friend or family member)

What does it involve?

You will need a sense of humour as you are going to be outside most of the day watching the runners tackle some gruelling and challenging obstacles. As a course Marshal for example you’ll be providing much needed encouragement (and the odd leg up!) to runners on the way round and looking out for those that are injured or flagging. Don’t worry we won’t be asking you to deal with any incidents, we just need you to alert our race control team and paramedics in the event of an accident.

You will be given a full briefing in the morning to ensure you and everyone else around you remains safe. You will need to stay until the last competitors finish on the course. We anticipate the race finishing at approximately 3:00pm but we’d love to share a beer (or two) with you at the end of the day.

What time do I start?

We ask that you arrive at 7:30 to be ready for volunteer briefing at 7:45am. You need to make sure that you are wearing the appropriate clothing. Don’t forget to pack the 3 Ws – waterproofs, wellies and woollies.
